FinApp Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
FinApp is a personal-finance app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: your financial data stays on your device. We do not operate a server, and we do not collect, sell, or share your data.
What data the app handles
When you connect an account, FinApp fetches your bank accounts and transactions through SimpleFin Bridge (https://simplefin.org), a third-party service you choose to connect to. That data — account names, balances, and transactions — is stored only on your device in an encrypted local database. We never receive it.
The app also stores data you create yourself (categories, budgets, recurring-bill choices) locally on the device.
What we collect
Nothing. FinApp has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. There is no developer-operated server that your data is sent to.
How your data is shared
Your data is not shared with us or any third party for our purposes. The only network connection the app makes is to SimpleFin Bridge, and only to fetch the account data you asked it to retrieve. SimpleFin’s handling of that request is governed by SimpleFin’s own privacy policy.
Security
- Your local database is protected with iOS file protection
(
NSFileProtectionComplete), encrypted at rest while the device is locked. - Your SimpleFin access credential is stored in the iOS Keychain, scoped to this device only (it is not synced to iCloud).
- You can require Face ID / passcode to open the app.
Your control over your data
- Disconnect removes the SimpleFin connection from your device.
- Clear all local data (in Settings) deletes every account, transaction, budget, and history record stored on the device.
- Deleting the app removes all of its local data.
Children
FinApp is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
